SMS Wolf kills of WWI
Sea mine casualties of World War I, sent to the depths of the ocean by the infamous German warship SMS Wolf February 1917.

SS Worcestershire (57m)
WORCESTERSHIRE: The British Armed Merchant Ship SS Worcestershire is a technical, decompression dive at 57m. All that remains is the ship hull that resembles a giant canoe with most of the structure deteriorated and collapsed. Marine life is simply amazing and literally breath taking. The bow, amidship with a large quadruple steam engine and stern are the most spectacular highlights of the dive. She also presents several places in the hull that could be penetrated if within your certification limits.

SS Perseus (40m)
PERSEUS: A massive ship, intact and lying on pristine sand at 40m. A haven for shoals of fish and a place of pristine wilderness and 30M+ Visibility! The stern lying to the north, is a scenic section to explore and includes a large steering quadrant and a swim through. Two gigantic masts rest on the ocean floor as well as two boilers could be found amidship. The fractured bow to the south, provides access to two of the lower decks of the ship. Marine life includes blue striped snapper, Napolean wrasse, sting ray and the occasional barracuda and mobula (devil) ray.
Dive Deep, Beyond Recreational Diving
Three of the best shipwrecks Colombo has on offer between 40m to 45m.

Battery Barge (45m)
UNKNOWN: A deep oasis full of fish life and colorful corals. Its generally too deep at 45M for recreational diving and is a favorite for Technical Divers.

Wallet Wreck (Taprobane North Barge) (40m)
UNKNOWN: A smaller wreck located close to the SS Perseus, also lies at a depth of 40m. Similarly pristine conditions and covered with colourful soft coral it is easily explored in one dive.

Black Coral Wreck (40m)
UNKNOWN: An unidentified medium sized shipwreck of unknown origin and demise. The wreck is upright and rests on sand at a depth of 40m. with a single boiler covered with beautiful black coral.
Recreational Diving for the Advanced Diver
Some of the best shipwrecks Colombo has on offer between 20m and 35m.

MV Chief Dragon (35m)
CHIEF: Is a Car Wreck that lies at a depth of 35m just 4 KM off the city of Colombo and is a superb wreck to dive and explore. A very large area of wreckage provides a haven for shoaling fish and big Groupers. The caves of sorts at the stern and the bow are the most interesting places to be. The remains of badly deteriorated vehicles can be found on deck. A range of spectacular marine biodiversity may be observed on this dive that will require more than one dive to satisfy a diver.

Pecheur Breton (32m)
CARGOWRECK; is a huge, partly intact cargo ship at 32m. The ship lies on its starboard side and provides a huge area for exploration. Considered one of the best scenic dives in Sri Lanka, the wreck is inhabited by a variety of marine life. The hold amidship, bridge and cavernous space under the starboard of the bow are the highlights of the dive.

Toilet Barge (32m)
UNKNOWN: A small steam ship about 10m in length at 32m, with excellent marine life and an unusual feature - a toilet situated by the single large boiler!

Taprobane East Wreck (32m)
UNKNOWN: In the pristine far off shore reefs, lies Taprobane, boasting visibility of over 20M on average. Here in a Caribbean like setting we have our Heaven on Earth. This picturesque shipwreck which lies on white sand, is a beautiful dive worth seeing at 32m. Colourful soft coral cover the damaged hull which is usually surrounded by schools of glassfish. You may spot the occasional large stingray and Napolean wrasses about the wreck.

The Trug (30m)
UNKNOWN: A huge sunken barge that rests up side down. All the action is at 30M and the site is full of Lion Fish who are easy to approach. In addition various other marine life such as small Groupers, Pufferfish, Trevally and Stingrays can be seen.

MV Medhufaru (30m)
MEDHUFARU: Though this ship sank on the 31st of May 2009, it was made accessible to divers in 2011 and lies at a depth of 30m. Highlight of the dive is to explore the earth moving Backhoe (JCB) on the deck, once upright but now on its side. Another can be found under the decks. Excellent place for Lionfish (mostly on the hunt!).

Clarke Wreck (29m)
UNKNOWN: Named after the world-famous Science Fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke who conducted his last SCUBA dive on this wreck at the age of 74 in March 1992. The wreck lies at a depth of 29m and is inhabited by blue striped snapper and other reef fish.

Lotus Barge (28m)
UNKNOWN: Named after the Lotus tower by the author of “Ghosts of the Deep”, it is a small barge resplendent with marine life and similar to the Toilet Barge but less preserved lying at 28m.

MV Thermopylae Sierra (23m)
SIERRA: The only shipwreck with its masts yet out of the water, settled on the sea bed in such a way that it is the only Open Water training site, dive operators in Colombo have to conduct scuba training. With a depth range from 6m to 23m and clear waters, it is ideal for all certification courses in Colombo.
The collapsed bridge, a large chamber forward of the bridge, a cargo of large steel pipes and several amidship decks provide a nice platform to just swim around. Spectacular marine life such as a large honeycombed moray, the occasional visiting eagle ray and whale shark are but a few highlights of the dive.
Our maximum depth for recreational dives is limited to 30 meters.
Night, deep and decompression dives deeper than 18 meters are available to divers with such specialised certification only.
Diving with a computer is mandatory, and solo diving it is not permitted.
