FEATURED ADVENTURES

HMS HERMES ADVENTURE

HERMES: Our flag ship of shipwrecks on the East of Sri Lanka.

The world’s first purpose-designed aircraft carrier, was sunk along with her escort HMAS Vampire.

Hermes is the only driveable aircraft carrier to have sunk in battle, while other such aircraft carriers of the same era were artificially sunk. Hence, the fact that the Hermes is an incredibly unusual, unique and intriguing world-class wreck in the world of technical diving at a depth of 53m. Out of 566 sailors, 307 lost their lives, and it is dedicated as a war memorial shipwreck.

WWII ADVENTURE

Dive into the past and explore the ships that met their fate when the Japanese attacked the east of Sri Lanka from 0700hrs to 1430hrs on Apr 9, 1942.

A total of six ships in all were lost; HMS Hermes, HMAS Vampire, The British Sergeant, SS Sagaing, HMS Hollyhock and the RFA Athelstane.

We also offer you the plane wreck PBY-5A Catalina, that was lost while on a mission in search of a Japanese submarine in 1943.

EAST COAST ADVENTURE

In our East Coast Adventure, we offer a variety of sites from shipwrecks to reefs rich in both history and biodiversity. Specifically chosen for the new and experienced recreational diver with depths between 6m to 30m.

As much as the East offers the best water clarity, there are days that these sites being closer to the shore tend to get silty. Saying this, one thing we guarantee is the abundance of marine creatures both large and small that will make your holiday a memorable one to take back with you.

COLOMBO ADVENTURE

Colombo hosts the most concentration of shipwrecks in the whole of Sri Lanka within 10nm of our port.

Two of the shipwrecks on offer date back to WWI, whilst the rest bring about their own unique stories, beauty and biodiversity to the adventurous diver.

All but one of our shipwrecks on offer are beyond a depth of 18m and requires an appropriate qualification to be dived.

Colombo is however the most intriguing basket of adventures to the Tec diver!

SOUTHWEST ADVENTURE

The Southwest itinerary is one of two adventures on the west coast. The shallow sandstone/limestone and rock boulder type coral reefs constantly influenced by the mineral rich out flows of the many fresh water rivers, has its own unique beauty and eco systems to be experienced.

Mirissa is popular as one of the largest fishing ports and is known for its mullets, tuna and snapper. Further north lie the towns of Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa, both offering many holiday activities to choose from and are known for their coral reefs and palm-lined beaches.
